Any time I have a problem in Pro Tools that I can’t explain, I usually find that “trashing the preferences” (on my mac, not sure about Windows, although you can do this manually) fixes the problem.

I found out about this “one-click” fix that automatically trashes my preferences and databases so that the weirdness will go away .
